Captain Brett Ryan was born in Metairie, LA. He grew up within walking distance of Lake Pontchartrain. Even back then he could be found catching trout, drum, redfish, catfish and others species that the lake had to offer.
In his late teens and early twenties Grand Isle, LA had become his second home. Captain Brett fished the entire island but his favorite shortly came to be fishing further offshore. The larger pelagic fish and blue water was a new challenge that he wanted to master.
After years of fishing offshore and spending thousands of dollars on his passion he mastered his all time favorite thing to do, fishing off coast of Southeastern, LA.
Over the years Brett ran two successful business’s and worked a side job in a famous New Orleans music venue to fund all is his fishing trips. With summers being slow in New Orleans he began spending a lot more time and money on the water. Realizing where he was investing all his time and hard earned money it became obvious what he needed to do next. It was time to turn his expertise and passion for offshore fishing into his full time job.
In 2009 he obtained his USCG 50-ton Masters License and immediately headed to work with his long time fishing friends in Venice, LA. Fishing in the charter industry out of Venice, LA offered Brett the opportunity of a lifetime. Year round fishing!!!!
These days Captain Brett devotes all his time and effort into putting his customers on the fish and offers the best offshore fishing experience year round. Even though he only works in Venice these days his long history of working in the service industry and interacting with people from all walks of life make him the most personable, professional and easy to get along with captain down in Venice. Captain Brett has worked with some of the top guide operations in Venice and does to this day.
