With over 40 years navigating the Barataria Basin, Captain Paul is the veteran backbone of Marsh Monster Charters. Before GPS and high-tech gear, Paul was learning the "language" of the marsh by heart. He brings that rare, old-school intuition to every bowfishing trip—knowing exactly where the monsters hide before the lights even hit the water.
Now fishing alongside his son, Captain Brandon, Paul specializes in putting clients on trophy Alligator Gar and Redfish using decades of hard-earned local knowledge. When you step onto his boat, you aren’t just getting a guide; you’re getting an authentic piece of Louisiana legacy.
Experience: 40+ Years in the Lafitte Backwaters

What To BringLouisiana Fishing License: Every adult (16+) must have a valid Louisiana Saltwater Fishing License or a 3-day Charter Passenger License. You can get these online at the LDWF website. Ice Chest for the Catch: Leave a large ice chest (at least 100qt recommended) in your vehicle to transport your cleaned fish home. Food & Drinks: Feel free to bring your own snacks or favorite beverages. Alcohol is permitted in moderation, but no glass bottles are allowed on the boat. Old School Attire: Clothing: Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy or "fishy." We recommend long sleeves and jeans to protect against the elements. Layers: Even in summer, the marsh can be 5–10 degrees cooler at night. Bring a jacket. Footwear: Wear non-slip, closed-toe shoes like tennis shoes or boots. No Crocs or open-toe shoes for safety while handling bows. Bug Spray: Essential for the boat ramp, though usually not needed once we’re out in the marsh.
