Sunday was one tough day on the water. Ben Creel brought his three kids and he told me all he cared about was them catching and he wasn't worried about what went into the K2 since it was the kids first speckled trout trip. Knowing his expectations and with the wind howling we started off chasing some birds on the leeward side of the lakes. The kids had a blast catching undersized trout, white trout, with a few keepers mixed in. When the birds stopped we hit points and reefs and found a slow bite. I decided to ditch the trout and go soak crabs and let the kids battle some big bruisers. We ran to the pass and it didn't take long for the drags to be screaming. Multiple double hook ups on the big nasties but the kids loved it. We stayed there until they were worn out. I hit one more spot to see if we could find something a little smaller for the box. We spent about 15 minutes and picked up one puppy drum before calling it a day. Big thanks to Capt. Travis Lovell for showing Kenny Moreau's crew a good time.
