Slap Ya Mama Boiled Crabs

Ingredients

  • 2 dozen live blue crabs
  • 1 4lb bag Slap Ya Mama Seafood Boil
  • 2 yellow onions, cut in fourths
  • 2 heads of garlic, cut in half
  • 4 lemons, cut in half
  • 12 ears frozen corn on the cob
  • 3 lbs smoked sausage, cut into 2-3 inch pieces

Instructions

  1. Fill a Bayou Classic pot up one third of the way with water and bring it to a boil. 
  2. Add in the seafood boil and allow to dissolve. 
  3. Place the onions, garlic, lemons, and crabs in the basket, then lower the basket into the boiling water. 
  4. Replace the lid and bring water back to a rolling boil for 15 minutes.
  5. Shut off the flame. Remove the lid and add the corn and smoked sausage. 
  6. Replace the lid, open up a cold Abita beer, and wait while the crabs soak for 10-15 minutes. 
  7. Remove the basket from the water, drain, and serve.
