Slap Ya Mama Charbroiled Oysters

Ingredients

  • 1 stick salted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Slap Ya Mama Cajun Seasoning
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1 dozen gulf oysters on the half shell
  • 1 tbsp parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Set oven to broil. 
  2. In a Bayou Classic cast iron skillet, heat butter on medium heat until melted, then continue until butter browns. 
  3. Reduce heat to low and add in garlic and Slap Ya Mama. 
  4. Stir and saute until the garlic is fragrant and soft, about two minutes.
  5. Place shucked oysters on the half shell on a baking sheet. 
  6. Spoon equal portions of the butter and garlic into each oyster, then top with a hefty pinch of parmesan cheese.
  7. Place the pan of oysters in the oven on a middle rack underneath the broiler. 
  8. Cook for approximately 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling and starting to brown.
  9. Remove the oysters from the oven and top with chopped parsley. 
  10. Eat when cooled slightly but still hot!
