We are wrapping up our spring fishing and moving into the summer pattern. Spring was one for the books here on Calcasieu lake as we loaded our fish table with mix boxes daily. Had a great spring flounder run along with plentiful redfish taken. Our speckled trout fishing was steady for the most part when the weather allowed us into the open lake to fish.
Our estuary is getting filled with shrimp daily and we are finding huge schools of trout busting shrimp at the surface.
Our success has mainly been on all artificial baits so far using a variety of soft plastics on a 1/8th jig head.
