Finally got a chance to get offshore again and it was great. I would have got this post out earlier but I went on one of those unwanted crash diets. We went straight out to wonderland and with fog all the way out it was nerve racking to drive only being able to see a couple hundred yards. With the fog we could see any of the bait or birds on the surface so we put a couple of feathers out and made a pass looking around. All of the birds I saw were sitting on the water which means they can't see either. I made a stop on a set of numbers I like and instantly the tile fish started coming in along with a few red porgies. So we hung around there for awhile and put more fish in the box. At one point we had a giant wahoo in the chum slick and Rob and I tossed everything we could to get it to bite but no go. From there we went looking for amberjacks and we found them. The largest jack was around 60+ pounds that ate a 4 pound bluefish, but the best catch was nice 40 to 50 pound warsaw grouper. The fish are biting and the weather gives us a chance every now and then so come on dawn and catch.
